How did you fall down the rabbit hole of fountain pens and stationery? AKA, the moment that made you fall in love with writing tools and supplies.
Growing up I've always enjoyed different intricate notebooks and liked to look at them. I enjoy a smooth pen that writes well, as I feel it makes my unique handwriting very appealing and easy to read.
What do you do for work? Is there any way this hobby is intermingled with your work?
I am a welder and fabricator, so one of my jobs at work is building things based on drawings and blueprints, which inspired my design for the pen. I went for a standard blueprint paper design, and turned it into a pen.
What else are you in to that you would like to share with people to better know you?
I like to have hobbies! I enjoy getting to do a lot of things and trying new stuff to just get out there and experience it. I love to travel around and meet new people from new walks of life. They all have good stories to tell, you just have to find them and listen with open ears.
What words/quote would you like to share to other aspiring creatives?
Just keep going. Creativity is about the artist, and what the vision is for them. Try a few different things, make yourself happy, and things will work follow through.
What do you believe is the best starter fountain pen? Where should people start?
I am only a starter myself, but anyone who is just starting out can look into some common, easy to find pens, and find some that matches their hand shape and size with the weight they need. Look at YouTube videos, go to local stationary shows, and get some hands on testing.
What's your go-to pen and ink combo?
I enjoy Furore pens by Leonardo. The design of them is very smooth and appealing. I like blue inks the best, like a nice bright color such as Stephanie Blue.
What's your favorite color? :)
Orange! A good lava colored orange is intense and bold without being too bright.
